Dear UWOSA Members,
Tiffany Trudgeon resigned from the Vice President position in August 2021. We thank Tiffany for her contributions over the past year and a half, especially as Chair of the Negotiations Committee. Her organizational skills for our union records will be missed, and her daily preparation on the Negotiations Team was instrumental during collective bargaining.
This leaves us with a vacancy on our Executive Committee until April 30, 2022, until the next election for the Vice President position, as per our Constitution, section 5.2 and 5.4, “Vacancy in the Executive Committee”. Responsibilities of the Vice President are outlined in the Constitution, section 7.4 “Officers of the Association”.
If you would like to self-nominate for the role, please email a brief biography of your qualifications (maximum 200 words) to info@uwosa.ca by September 8, 2021 to be submitted for review to Stewards Council.
Applicants will be notified by the President with the date they are expected to attend a Stewards Council meeting to provide a brief (5 minute) presentation to Council members. After all presentations, a vote will be held by Steward Council members to determine the next Vice President.
