UWOSA Members Vote YES to Ratify Tentative Collective Agreement
Thank you for attending the general information meeting for the purpose of ratification, and for taking the time to cast your vote. As a reminder, in accordance with our Constitution and Bylaws, Bylaw 16.2.8. a contract ratification vote shall require a majority (fifty percent plus one) of the ballots cast in order to be approved.
Participation rate: 65.6% out of 940 eligible voters, 617 members voted
Total Votes YES: 64.5 % in favour (398)
Total Votes NO: 35.5 % against (219)
Next, Western must ratify. Western has a two-step ratification by the Senior Policy and Operations Committee and then by the Board of Directors which should be finished by August 15.
Upon ratification, HR will plan to have all wage adjustments and retro pay applied for August payroll.
Once ratified by the Board of Governors, paper copies of the Collective Agreement will be distributed to the membership and an electronic copy will be posted to the UWOSA website.
