New Collective Agreement is Available Online

The July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2021 Collective Agreement is Available on the UWOSA website ( from the home UWOSA page, under the Main Menu section by clicking the “About UWOSA” tab.

As per Article 7.11, Western shall print and distribute one copy of this Agreement to each employee and provide 100 copies to UWOSA.

Announcement: UWOSA General Membership Meeting

The General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, from Noon until 2:00 p.m. in the McKellar Theatre, 290 UCC.

Please bring your Western ID card to gain admittance to the meeting.
Per our Collective Agreement, Article 7.07 (Union Representation), you are entitled to 2 hours without loss of pay or reduction of benefits, to attend this general membership meeting. These 2 hours include your regularly scheduled meal period. In addition, if you work away from main campus, you are entitled to up to one hour of additional time for travel. This time does not need to be made up.

In accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws, the agenda will be as follows:

Announcement: UWOSA Appoints Vice President

UWOSA is pleased to announce that the Stewards Council appointed Natalie Samuel as Vice President until the end of this term (April 30, 2018). Natalie has been UWOSA’s Membership Services Officer since June 2017, and as an active member of the Membership, Newsletter, and Social Committee since 2013.

Natalie works in the Faculty of Law, Career Office where she plans, organizes, and coordinates events. Her most recent experiences of being involved as the Membership Services Officer to organize the annual luncheon for 2018, Ronald McDonald House volunteer dinners, Budweiser Gardens discounts and the Columbia Store invitation event are all assets to her new role. Natalie will continue to Chair the Ad Hoc Communications Committee which is currently exploring web hosting for our UWOSA site.
